The simple question is why would you buy a Perpetual Calendar that you have to wind by hand even if there is an eight days power reserve on offer? It’s the same reason you own a supercar in Central London; 1) because you can & 2) it is mechanically & aesthetically stunning!
The Jaeger LeCoultre Master 8 Days is another proper complication that the Manufacture deliver in both steel & rose gold. A quick look at the steel model, which we have recently received. With a case diameter of 40mm, this model looks bigger on the wrist than the diameter suggests due to the light coloured dial & very clean bezel but would happily sit well under most shirt cuffs. Typical calendar features are offered alongside a beautifully finished moon phase sub dial, four digit year display & power reserve indicator for the eight day power reserve. The dial is symmetrical & clean as well as being very legible despite the many details.
Retailing at a paltry £17,100.00 including VAT, this model is easily the best value for money perpetual calendar on the market (until the steel ultra thin automatic version is released to all retailers!) Model ref: Q1618420.
The Master Eight Days houses the hand wound in-house Jaeger LeCoultre Calibre 876-440B. Decorated by hand with a sunburst effect emanating from the balance wheel, this is perhaps not the most fascinating of Jaeger LeCoultre’s movements but the front definitely makes up for what the back lacks!
There is a lovely weight & definition to the case that thoroughly shows the care that has gone into the production. A solid black alligator strap with triple blade steel folding clasp comes as standard as does a two year international warranty.
