Chopard is one of the world's leading Jewellery & Watch houses but unlike many other companies, Chopard remains resolutely family owned & independent. This ethos is what drew us to the Brand & will hopefully help to forge a lasting & fruitful partnership between Chopard & New Cavendish Jewellers.

Chopard was founded in 1860 by Louis Ulysse Chopard, who's initials will later be incorporated into the DNA of their watch making ability. Based in the Jura region of Switzerland, it was not until 1963 when the firm was purchased by the Scheufele family did we see Chopard begin to gain the identity we all identify it with now. 1973 saw the first Chopard Happy Diamonds watch, a style that is immediately recognisable as Chopard & like any important marque; a collection that will evolve but stand the test of time.

1988 saw the beginning of Chopard's partnership with the famous Mille Miglia vintage car race held in Italy every year. This partnership has spawned a collection of watches that are equally synonymous with Chopard & helped define a style of watches incorporating tyre thread rubber straps & racing leather straps. The Chopard Happy Diamonds collection was increased to include the Chopard Happy Sport in 1993 adding another pillar to an incredibly successful family.

In recent years, watch making across the board has become focused on manufacturing their movements in-house with a general aim to move forward in terms of complications & mechanical standards. Chopard can safely attest to be well ahead of the game with the development of the in-house L.U.C. movement back in 1996.

Alongside the renown Chopard Happy Diamonds & Happy Sport collections; the latest addition to their collections is the Chopard Imperiale selection catering mainly to ladies & offering a feminine timepiece that is a step away from the Sports collections & also the Happy Diamonds but retaining Chopard’s unique identity & signature quality.
