For 2019, IWC have redesigned the classic Spitfire collection. A family synonymous with IWC's Pilot's line up, though ever present, the 2019 models see a re-energised series. Classic black dials are matched with vintage styled beige hands and quarter hour plots. The watches are available on both Santoni calf and khaki textile straps, while consciously created for collectors and enthusiasts alike, the case sizes have been reduced. Wonderfully commercial yet enveloping all the DNA of an IWC Pilot's Watch.
A smaller case diameter at 39mm returns the style to more classic propportions while the paired back dial and soft calf strap finish the low key style. a wonderful modern design invoking the classic Pilot's watches of the bygone era.
The watch, which is water-resistant to 60 metres, is powered by an automatic calibre movement and has a 42-hour power reserve. With its soft-iron inner case for protection against magnetic fields and a front glass secured against displacement by sudden drops in pressure.
