Omega has been an official time keeper for the Olympics since 1932 and was the first watch worn on the Moon in 1969 by legendary astronaut, Buzz Aldrin. Omega’s legendary Speedmaster was chosen for this mission after passing NASA’s strict tests for precision. In 1999, Omega further confirmed further testament to precision and innovation by incorporating the Co-Axial calibre into their movements. This ground breaking innovation was developed by British watch maker, George Daniels. The aim of this innovation was to reduce friction and thus increase durability and precision.
