The doors of the Palexpo in Geneva have closed on a landmark year for haute horlogerie. The 2026 exhibition proved to be a record-breaking spectacle, with 66 brands unveiling a synthesis of heritage revivals, technical innovation, and refined sport-luxury.
We recently explored the themes we hoped to see in our pre-event feature, Anticipating Watches and Wonders. Now, as the industry digests the sheer scale of Watches and Wonders 2026, it is clear that those expectations were spectacularly exceeded.

Panerai: Military Heritage Reloaded
This year, Panerai leaned heavily into its tool-watch DNA, honouring its mid-century military origins with a suite of robust Luminor and Radiomir updates.
The standout releases were the new Luminor Revivals (PAM01731 & PAM01732). Housed in 44mm cushion cases inspired by the legendary 1950s 6152/1, these pieces feature tobacco and blue sandwich dials, 300m water resistance, and a highly requested Destro (left-handed) option. Expanding on unique materials, Panerai also unveiled the Brunito Luminor 8 Giorni (PAM01733), which utilises a distinctive brushed-black PVD steel finish to complement its 8-day power reserve.
The maison also expanded its "Experience" limited editions, introducing the Radiomir Viaggio nel Tempo in both Bronzo (PAM01729) and Platinumtech (PAM01730), alongside a Submersible Navy SEALs Afniotech (PAM01089) featuring a 1000m water-resistant hafnium case.

Cartier: Iconic Shapes Evolved
Cartier has always been the undisputed master of shaped watches, and their 2026 presentation proved to be a celebration of form, function, and sculptural elegance.
The biggest headline was the triumphant return of the Roadster. Moving past 2000s nostalgia, the new Roadster models arrive with a sense of sporty restraint. Available in medium and large sizes across steel, two-tone, and gold, they feature the QuickSwitch strap system and are powered by the reliable 1847 and 1899 MC movements.
Marking a decade of horological exclusivity, Cartier celebrated the 10th Anniversary of its Privé collection with a platinum Tank Normale, a Tortue Chronographe Monopoussoir, and a breathtaking Crash Squelette highlighted with delicate burgundy details. There were also refined updates to the Baignoire and Santos lines, incorporating Clou de Paris textures and mesmerising stone dials.

A beautiful new gold variant of the iconic Tangente was also announced, adding a touch of dress-watch elegance to the typically austere design, alongside sporty evolutions of the Tangente Sport.
NOMOS continues as a cornerstone for those who value authentic in-house manufacturing and understated design. Breguet: Complication Mastery
Building on centuries of horological significance, Breguet used Watches and Wonders 2026 to advance its incredible Tradition line. The maison showcased its unrivalled expertise in traditional metiers d'art by unveiling striking new models like the Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7037, featuring a retrograde seconds complication and an exquisite ALD-treated blue movement, and the Tradition GMT 7067, which introduces a breathtaking green-gradient Grand Feu enamel dial alongside its dual-time functionality.
