The new Tank Must de Cartier collection revives an eighties fan favourite! Design cues taken directly from the famous Tank Louis Cartier, see curved edges and pointed crowns but the Tank Must was also offered in steel, silver and even gold-plated variants.
Revived in 2021, this new series of Tank Must De Cartier watches sees the same familiar lines and curves but now with updated movements, especially in the XL version that carries an in-house mechanical calibre with decorated dial. Both straps and steel bracelets offer quick release features, while high autonomy movements in the quartz versions offer a battery life of up to 8 years!
Tank Must De Cartier Through Time
In line with the fashion of the 1970’s, Cartier wanted to provide a watch that was unmistakably Cartier but with a price point that allowed more to access the Brand. Thus, the Must de Cartier was born, a watch based on the Tank Louis Cartier but cased in gold plated silver with a battery-powered quartz movement. It was a fashionable piece that still carried the luxurious hallmarks of Cartier.
Cartier, ever conscious of styles and trends, evolved new models to replace the Must series in line with the times. However, as is the case with most Cartier designs, there is always time for a revival. So, we have the new Tank Must de Cartier – offered in 3 sizes, the collection remains perfectly on trend today as it ever was.
