You should always choose one that reflects your partner’s personal taste, but as an overarching guide:
Stone: Diamond is most popular, but options like Sapphire, Emerald, and Ruby offer a pop of colour.
Setting: A single purchase carrying with it alifetimeof meaning and emotion, the Engagement Ring is a symbol of unity. At New Cavendish Jewellers, we have guided our clients on their individual Engagement Ring journey for more than forty years. From discreet and soft semi-precious colouredstones to impactful Diamonds, we create bespoke rings to suit every style.
Cut: This essentially refers to the shape of the stone. The most popular cuts include round, oval, emerald, and pear. Cuts like round or oval are more traditional, whereas emerald cuts have a more Art Deco feel about them.
Metal: Choose from white gold, yellow gold, rose gold, or platinum, depending on your recipient’s preference. Each are high quality options designed to last a lifetime.
Clarity: This refers to any imperfections seen within the stone, and is marked by the GIA clarity scale. Flawless means the stone has the least amount of imperfections, with I3 for the stones with the most imperfections.
Carats: Referring to the weight of the stone, one carat is equivalent to 0.2 grams. The higher the carats, the higher the price of the stone. This is where lab grown diamond engagement rings typically achieve a higher number of carats for the price.
The Engagement ring journey is a very personal one, we offer you the opportunity to explore our collection online and book your in person consultation at our Boutique on Marylebone High Street where our dedicated team can help you decide which is the right choice.
Most rings can be resized, but it’s best to check before purchasing. This may depend on the setting and style, but we will try our best to accomodate.
Regular cleaning and safe storage will help maintain sparkle and security. Remove your ring during exercise, showering or exposure to harsh chemicals.
