Santos De CartierLarge Model ADLC Automatic WSSA0039

In 1904, Louis Cartier granted the wish of the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont: to be able to tell the time while flying. The birth of one of the first ever wristwatches (& Pilot’s Watches) sealed the bonds of friendship between these two pioneers. The rounded angles of the dial, seamless curve of the horns, and the exposed screws made for an iconic watch that would inspire countless reinterpretations.

An ADLC (Amorphous Diamond Like Carbon) coated case creates a stealthy aesthetic while Cartier's inimitable Roman Numerals and minute track are visible as ever. A lightweight rubber strap is accompanied by a luxurious alligator strap as standard.

Very few collections hold an enduring presence quite like the Santos de Cartier. Over a Century of uninterrupted style, adorning the wrists of actors, writers, artists and fans of Cartier alike with the common appreciation of wearing an iconic timepiece. The modern Santos de Cartier enjoys all the updates one would expect from new technology but retains all the design cues that make it instantly recognisable.
