The 44 mm Brunito steel case finish begins with a black PVD layer applied to the steel, then partially reduced by hand through brushing. The process reveals softer grey tones along the edges, recreating the look of metal aged through use - an appearance recalling the surfaces of historic military instruments. Every case is thus unique, each with subtle tonal nuances from the manual process.

The anthracite sandwich dial features a new circular brushed finishing that enhances how the surface reacts to light, giving the dial shifting depth throughout the day. Arabic numerals, markers and small seconds at 9 o’clock ensure immediate legibility, a core requirement of Panerai’s original underwater instruments. The “8 Giorni” inscription recalls the brand’s tradition of extended autonomy.

The eight-day power reserve traces back to the 1950s, when Panerai equipped its watches for naval divers with the Angelus SF240 movement. Its long autonomy reduced the need for frequent winding, helping preserve water resistance during missions. Luminor PAM01733 continues this tradition with the hand-wound P.5000 calibre and its eight-day reserve.
