Certain watches hold mythical status in horological lore. The IWC Ingenieur is defintely one of them. Designed by Gerald Genta and sitting firmly at the forefront of the drive towards fulfilling anit-magneticism in mechanical watches; the choice of engineers and aesthetes alike. 

The updated IWC Ingenieur 40 carries the hallmarks of its classic predecessors with exposed bolts on the bezel and a distinct integrated stainless steel bracelet. The case is sized at a modern yet modest 40mm while the bracelet is a wonderful example of ergonomic principles. 

The dial is where this new series stands alone in its own space. A patterned guilloche finish incorporates the stylised idea behind the Ingenieur logo and adds a depth not seen before in this collection. Offered in silvered and black in steel, and solid grey in the titanium and a striking turquoise again in steel. 

The watchmaking prowess that made the IWC Ingenieur famous is given its due respect. An enitrely new calibre has been created ensuring the same unparalelled level of ant-magneticism and also an incredible 120 hour (5 day) power reserve.
